Overview
Nestled quietly between the larger beaches of Son Saura and Cala Turqueta, Cala des Talaier is a small, secluded inlet that represents one of the most idyllic swimming spots on the island. What sets this beach apart is the exceptionally shallow, sandy slope of its bay. You can walk out dozens of meters into the crystal-clear water and still find the sea only reaching your waist, creating a massive, calm, electric-blue swimming pool that is perfect for families and relaxed floaters.
The beach is surrounded by low cliffs and pine trees, which provide a sense of complete isolation and wild beauty. The sand is incredibly fine and white, feeling soft underfoot. Because of its orientation, it is highly protected from southern winds, ensuring the water remains as flat and transparent as a mirror.
To reach Cala des Talaier, visitors typically park at Son Saura and walk eastward along a scenic stretch of the Camí de Cavalls for about 15 to 20 minutes. The walk is relatively easy and offers lovely coastal views. As a completely virgin cove, there are no amenities, so bringing enough drinking water, snacks, and sun protection is vital for a comfortable stay.
