Overview
While most of Menorca's white-sand, Caribbean-style beaches are located on the southern coast, Cala Presili (also known as Platja de Capifort) is a spectacular exception situated in the northeast. Located within the S'Albufera des Grau Natural Park, this beach offers a striking contrast between a wild, dark volcanic landscape and a bay of extremely fine, soft white sand meeting crystal-clear, shallow turquoise waters.
The beach faces the open sea but is protected by surrounding rocky heads, keeping the water calm and shallow for a long distance. One of the most unique aspects of Cala Presili is the stunning view of the iconic black-and-white striped Favàritx Lighthouse, which stands proudly on the rocky cape just across the bay, providing a dramatic backdrop for swimmers and sunbathers.
To reach Cala Presili, visitors must park at the designated lot on the road to the Favàritx Lighthouse and hike along a scenic 15 to 20-minute section of the Camí de Cavalls. Because it is located in a highly protected natural reserve, there are absolutely no facilities, lifeguards, or shade here, meaning you must pack in all your own supplies. Nudism is very common here due to its secluded and peaceful environment.
