Overview
For those willing to venture off the beaten path, Cala Trebalúger offers one of the most rewardingly wild beach experiences in Menorca. Located on the southern coast, this expansive, virgin beach is uniquely characterized by a small, slow-flowing freshwater river that winds its way through a lush pine valley before emptying into the sea. The contrast of the green valley, the calm river, and the wide crescent of soft white sand meeting the turquoise ocean is truly spectacular.
Because it cannot be reached by car and requires a moderately demanding 35 to 40-minute hike from Cala Mitjana (which includes climbing up and down rocky paths along the cliffs), Trebalúger remains significantly quieter and less crowded than its more accessible neighbors. The atmosphere is one of absolute peace and natural purity, where the only sounds are the rustle of the pines and the gentle waves.
The beach has a wide sandy shore and deep, exceptionally clear waters that are excellent for swimming and snorkeling. There are absolutely no services, lifeguards, or facilities here, which has helped preserve its pristine environment. It is also a popular stop for boat excursions and yachts that anchor in its calm, sheltered waters.
