Platja de Son Saura is one of the largest and most spectacular virgin beach areas on Menorca's southern coast. It actually consists of two large, sweeping crescent bays: Platja d'es Banyuls to the west and Platja de Bellavista to the east, separated by a low rocky point. Together, they offer a vast stretch of fine, white sand bordered by a protected dune system and a beautiful pine forest that provides natural shade.

The waters at Son Saura are incredibly shallow, calm, and transparent, making it a highly popular destination for families with children. Swimmers can walk far out into the bay before the water reaches chest height, and the sandy seabed reflects a wonderful light blue hue. Because it is a protected natural area, accumulations of Posidonia oceanica (sea grass) are common on the shoreline; this is a sign of a healthy ecosystem and is left undisturbed to protect the beach from erosion.

Son Saura features a large parking area just a short, flat 5-minute walk from the sand, making it one of the easiest virgin beaches to access. Although there are lifeguards and public restrooms, there are no beach bars or commercial activities on the sand, ensuring the area retains its natural, open feel. It is also an excellent starting point for coastal walks along the Camí de Cavalls to nearby coves like Cala des Talaier.
